Wondering if your dog could behave the way dogs on T.V. do? Some of the dogs that become a part of some movie or a show are highly trained by the professionals and everybody knows that these professionals are best in their job. Do you always get sad when you see dogs at your nearest dog obedience schools behaving better than your dog? But hey, do you know that you can give such training at home as well?
Home dog training can always be done and there is no need of any of the dog training schools. With just a few proper techniques you can train a dog at home. Before you could proceed with the dog obedience training, you need to drive out all the myths about it. I have compiled a list of myths that you MUST drive out of your mind.
* Don’t start training your dog unless he is 4 months older or more. Truth: you can start training the dog from the very first day you bring it home. Just make sure that you don’t force the dog too much in the beginning.
* Training older dogs is not possible: I believe older dogs have already developed their mind, body and are mature enough to understand things better than a few months old dog could do. You get a better response from an older dog due to their mature instincts.
* Don’t train unless it’s 4 months old: It is said that you should only train the dog if its age is 4 months or more. Truth: You can start giving him training lessons from its very first day in your house. Don’t pressurize the dog but just start giving him small training lessons.
* Don’t train dogs of less than 4 months of age: I would say here that the dog training should begin from the day 1. You can start slowly with them and then take things to higher level with time as they get old. Some short lessons won’t provide any harm to your lovely dog.
Training your dog about obedience is not difficult, provided you follow few things. Stop believing in myths for a better trained dog.
